These past few months have been some of the most refreshing months of my life. I have thoroughly enjoyed bonding with my little Luke….he has been the absolute love of my life. I have embraced these last few months because I have had no distractions or obligations outside my home, which has allowed me to be fully present with my kids, enjoy my time with our new family and using these months to truly reflect on what is most important to me. Through these reflections, I have weighed so many different ideas, struggled with how I want to move forward with my photography business, consulted with trusted friends and respected photographers to provide me with clarity and decided that it all boiled down to following my heart.
These past few months have been such a blessing but also have been full of challenges. Through these blessings and challenges, I have really had to re prioritize certain aspects of my life, starting with photography. After much debate within myself, I’ve decided to develop my business in the High School Senior market, maternity and custom portraiture, which means saying good bye to family photography…..the biggest niche of my business. As scary as that can be, I know it is what is best for me and my feature aspirations. Making this huge change will be a pivotal catalyst for my future goals and I am so excited to take on this new challenge. It honestly feels like I am starting all over again but honestly, that challenge is part of the excitement. I want to take this opportunity to give a huge shout out to all the wonderful families that I have been able to photograph these past years and recognize that without them, I would have never made the strides I have made without their support and encouragement. They are the reason why I am still in business today. And for that, I cannot express my deepest gratitude for their loyalty.
With that said, my new pursuit of the High School Seniors is something that I have been dreaming about for some time! I am still this 16 year old girl trapped into this middle age body, so hanging out with teenagers, sounds like a great deal to me! I look forward to sharing fashion tips, what to wear ideas, the look for less ideas, talk about hair and makeup, share inspiration boards and most of all, taking pictures with these awesome Seniors! This week, I will be introducing my 2013 High School Senior Reps so be sure to come back and give them a warm welcome!
It’s great to be back and I am so excited to see how this whole new transition unfolds….so thank you for following my journey!
And with that, here’s the top 4 reasons why all this new change is worth it.
